English Translation

[Translation of the Nahuatl (right-hand column) by James Lockhart:] At this point they grounded their boats and came on dry land, and once on dry land they came skirmishing, shooting guns and iron bolts. And the warriors crouched very low at the walls, taking the houses or walls as shelter. And the sentinel kept his eyes peeled as to where they would rise up. And at the right moment, when it was time, he cried out, saying, “Oh Mexica, up and at them!” [Translation of the Spanish (left-hand column) by James Lockhart:] (intentionally blank)
